Customer Reviews
Read All ReviewsI’d give this place negative 100 stars if I could. Scott DeFabbo is the worst salesman. Be weary of him - he along with the managers give false promises and will lie just to make you content in the moment. Additionally, they have zero communication and only care about their check. I purchased a 2021 VW Atlas in August of 2024. When we were going to sign the paper work the next day, Scott told us the car needed “cleaned”. Long story short, we didn’t get our car until December 2024, were put in a Enterprise rental at THEIR cost (see proof), only to find out Scott failed to TELL HIS MANAGER of his doing and now they have not paid enterprise MONTHS later. Mind you, we contacted and spoke to SEVERAL personnel at this dealership who ALL ensured we would continue to be covered for the rental under the dealerships dime in the months we didn’t have our car. Why do I AS THE CUSTOMER have to contact YOU to get information????? I went weeks without hearing from Scott. Never shopping with them again. You’re better off shopping with Classic or a reliable branch.
Horrible experience here! Rude, unethical practices, and overall very stressful. I needed to write this review as I had the worst experience of any car dealership I've personally visited.
This occurred over a year ago, but as I start my car search again, I am reminded at how terrible this dealer is! So figured I’d post my Google review from 2023 here as well. Thursday, we drove from Pittsburgh to look at a used Jetta. We looked over the car, test drove, and agreed to purchase. The front of the car and the rims were in rough shape. However, the price was decent. They will try to sell you protection plans. Don’t fall for it. Very pushy. Leaving, I notice a light was on the dashboard. I showed the team. I was told the car was still under warranty and to take it to my local VW dealer. Not something you want to hear about a car you’ve owned for 5 minutes. When home, I parked the car and clicked the key fob to lock. Nothing. I opened the door and manually locked the cars. Nothing. The car didn’t lock. I immediately took video proof and emailed our salesman. The next morning I made an appointment at my local dealership. I take time out of work to drop the car off. The dealership found 2 open recalls and said all the issues were due to after market parts that were not programmed correctly. As politely as possible, this dealer warned me that selling a car with open recalls is a huge red flag. They also said any reputable VW dealership should have been aware of the other issues. Streetsboro agreed to fix the issues. We just have to drive back to Ohio and return the car. I was assured all diagnostic fees from the other dealer would be covered. We will be given a loaner and our car will be delivered. I asked about the 3 day exchange policy. I was told that didn’t apply since we were out of state. We agreed to drive back to Ohio and return the car. Saturday I called GM Chris. Chris assured there was no issues, the car will be fixed, and had excuses to why the recalls weren’t addressed. He said things like “I don’t understand why you are so against this car, it’s a great car once we fix the issues.” I reminded him of the four major issues we had. After several calls, Chris agreed to let us exchange the car. He originally said they don’t exchange out of state cars because of distance. We live closer to the dealer than many cities in Ohio. We wanted to come in Sunday due to work, but Chris wanted to directly work with us. We agreed to come Monday. As we went to leave Monday the loaner car didn’t start. We called the dealer and Igor apologized. The first and only apology we received from management. Luckily, neighbors were home and were able to jump us. This loaner was another beat up Jetta that is listed for sale. At Streetsboro we met with our original salesperson. We looked at a 2023 Jetta. They agreed to knock off the interior insurance but would not budge on the car price or offer anything else to fix our situation. Finally Chris made an appearance. Remember when I said we had to come Monday because Chris wanted to work with us? He came over for 3 minutes to say he won’t budge on price. He again gaslighted us by saying the original car was a great car. I reminded him everything his dealership has put us through. A car that had four issues within minutes (light on dashboard, doors didn’t lock, 2 open recalls). The fact we drove that car with open recalls with our two year old makes me feel unsafe. The loaner didn’t start when it was time to return. Three trips back and forth to Streetsboro, Tolls, gas, babysitters Friday night snd Monday, taking off work to make multiple trips. He claimed he didn’t know about the loaner car issue. He also claimed he didn’t know about the check that was to be overnighted to us to cover the cost of the diagnostic VW dealer in Pittsburgh. Therefore, lack of communication in house. He finally agreed to take the cost of the diagnostic off cost of the car. I am appreciative they allowed us the exchange. This though was the minimum of rectifying the issue. There was nothing more to make up the disaster situation we were dealt. Chris never even attempted to apologize
The service performed was fine, no issues there. During my visit I experienced 2 major issues. First being that they charge a 3% convenience fee that was not disclosed prior to doing the work and I only learned about this when it was time to make a payment. Nobody carries large amounts of cash to pay for service at a dealership. Additionally they are the most expensive in town, and they want an additional 3%. Second, I brought my Tiguan in for service. Not for an appraisal or sales. I have now become inundated with sales people from VW of Streetsboro trying to buy my car back claiming they have an upgrade yet they are unable to match my vehicle on specs and would be a downgrade at the same cost. I am at the point where I am going to pursue legal action next time I am contacted by this dealership.
Chris S. was our salesman. He provide excellent customer service. Sarah handled the delivery successfully!
Scott was my salesman and when I say he meet all my expectations he is amazing thanks Scott
Scott DeFabbo helped me to purchase a used BMW. He was very patient and spent the time to address all my questions and concerns. The process was easy and completed quickly. I would highly recommend VW of Streetsboro and Scott.
I recently purchased a vehicle with Volkswagen of Streetsvboro, and had the pleasure of working with salesman Eric Beehler and his team. Eric was professional, knowledgeable, and he expedited the process, making the whole experience an enjoyable one. He went above and beyond and I would recommend working with him if you are in the market for a new or used car.
At first I thought it was a great experience buying a used car from here. Few days later I came to the realization how they really are. Should of recorded conversation with the sales guy because things that I was told ended up not being true, and that he would never of said that. Anything to get the sale I guess. So verify what your told before signing the papers. Don't trust the oh we will do it or have it done before you pick it up.
Savannah helped us buy two new Atlases! She was professional, knowledgeable, efficient, must most importantly personable! Highly recommend asking for Savannah if you’re in the market for a VW!
Robert Wells, our sales associate worked hard to get us into the specific vehicle we wanted at the price we could agree on. Dealership was clean, organized, busy. All associates we met were friendly and helpful.
VW of Streetsboro is easy to work with. Sarah was knowledgeable and Hope was great.
I was really shocked by how great Kolin Sanded was when helping me find a car at 19 years old when most people would have laughed at me at 19 to get a good car! Highly Recommend
I would leave zero stars if possible. I have taken my car here for years but will never again after my experience last week. Took it for annual service and they botched the oil filter. It leaked (and I didn’t notice), then my car essentially broke down. They refused to accept responsibility and frankly were jerks on the phone. I had to tow it myself and pay for it. They refused to reimburse me for the botched service job but begrudgingly fixed the oil filter and adapter after I fought with them for hours. Very unprofessional, both in their customer service and technical service (they forced the oil filter back in place and punctured it, then sent me off like that). Never again.
I drove 5 hours one way to purchase a vehicle. I was anxious to get back on the road to head home because of the long drive ahead of me. Fortunately for me, Hope was aware of my long drive home and made every effort to expedite the paperwork process for me and got me on the road in record time. She handled everything with supreme professionalism and topped it off with a friendly attitude and smile.
John H. worked with us during our buying experience and our family is thrilled! We came to the dealership just before closing time on a Sunday thinking we were just going to walk around the lot & see what they have since they were closing and we were surprised. John didn’t mind staying around to answer our questions after we did a test drive. John took down our info and called me back during my break on Monday morning to tell us that we qualified for a fantastic loan interest rate and told us he’d have the car washed and vacuumed by the time we picked up our new Volkswagen on Monday evening. My oldest daughter will be driving for the first time this summer and we’re going back to see John for her car. Way to go, John! Thanks. Kevin Pendleton, Aurora, OH
I had a terrible experience at VW of Streetsboro. I drove over two hours to see a Tesla Model X, only to be met with dismissive behavior. They didn't even make a counteroffer to my proposal, with the manager stating, "I can't take a dollar off this car anymore." Ironically, the car is now $100 cheaper - just a day later. Their salesperson falsely claimed they were the only ones with that car within 500 miles. I found a similar car with a one-year warranty directly from Tesla, albeit with a week's wait. Despite showing her Tesla's better offer for my trade-in, she remained uninterested. I ordered my car from Tesla due to VW of Streetsboro's poor service and misinformation.
So here's my weekly update on how Streetsboro Volkswagen still hasn't refunded my "refundable" deposit. This is now coming up on 3 weeks and still nothing. Their responses to reviews are pitiful and repetitive. This is a Low level business at best. I'll probably be back next week for week 4 waiting for my refund.
This dealership is the absolute worst. I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone. They are affiliated with North Coast Auto Mall, which is one of the sleaziest ring of dealerships around if you know anything about them. I thought that maybe they would be better than North Coast but no. They’re not. They might be worse. I asked for info on a car and got an appraisal done by them and they wouldn’t leave me a lone for one day afterwards. They sent me a purchase agreement showing their appraisal offer and I then asked for a full purchase agreement showing what I owed on my car plus their offer. I asked for this for 3 days and they wouldn’t send it. Plus they kept trying to sell me a warranty I told them I don’t want. I did this all via phone and text. I even sent multiple detailed pictures of the car and it’s mileage. This was done via Chris the salesman. I got tired of texting them so I finally go up there to get the paperwork and a new salesman “DJ” wouldn’t give me the paperwork. He pestered me for 10 minutes about looking at my car and taking the car I wanted on a test drive. Which I didn’t have time for and told him that!! They don’t care about you as a customer. They don’t care about you as a person. Or your time. They only care about money. It’s ridiculous. Then after all this they didn’t even give me the paperwork (I did leave quickly because of an emergency at work). But before I left I said send me the paperwork which they didn’t do. Then DJ called me the next day and asked if I was ready to buy the car, which i responded to with, no because I haven’t gotten the paperwork yet. And then he had the audacity to say oh I’ll send you that but we’re actually going to offer you about $3k LESS THAN WHAT WE INITIALLY OFFERED YOU FOR YOUR CAR. I was flabbergasted. I would never do work with them. DJ & Chris are awful salesman.
Amazing service The tech's name is Chris Harnak. He exceeded our expectations..thank you
Ron made the buying experience quick and painless. I knew what i wanted and he made it happen. I would highly recommend him as your sales agent when buying from Volkswagen of Streetsboro!
Used to be great years past, then there was a management change and a palpable change in atmosphere. When I bought my GTI, I requested that the BBS wheels from my trade-in be transferred to my purchased car, which they did, but I had to school them that the BBS wheels required a different wheel bolt head profile than the ones from the stock wheels. Their error would have caused a safety issue. A later service visit; the tech treated my GTI like a personal toy, had time to fiddle with the radio settings and left the interior in disarray. I voiced my displeasure in an email and never got a response. I'm done permanently.
People are Great! Kolin Sanders is very professional, friendly and goes out of his way to answer any questions. They all go above and beyond to help make your buying as easy as possible. Good deals and Great people.
Never again will I go there, worst place I have ever been to buy a car. Did not do the things they said they done or will do. Said they test drove the used vehicle that I bought and they did not so when we did, we found out the rotors were bad, they replaced those but did not detail the car like they said they were going to. Loan papers had 2 different prices and interest rates. They had my new car marked as gray and it is white, they did not return my calls, then they said they were going to get me new plates and they did not, I had to argue with them for days about that and finally went and got them myself because the temp tag was expired. Those are just a few things that we had problems with. BEWARE and stay away from them.
Just want to say thanks to Ivra B. for a great interaction and process of purchasing a used car from VW Streetsboro, recently. Ivra was a great partner and advisor. And knowledgeable at every step of the process. I recommend working with him if you are looking to buy a car.
