I’d give this place negative 100 stars if I could. Scott DeFabbo is the worst salesman. Be weary of him - he along with the managers give false promises and will lie just to make you content in the moment. Additionally, they have zero communication and only care about their check. Horrible experience here! Rude, unethical practices, and overall very stressful. I needed to write this review as I had the worst experience of any car dealership I've personally visited.
This occurred over a year ago, but as I start my car search again, I am reminded at how terrible this dealer is! So figured I’d post my Google review from 2023 here as well.
Thursday, we drove from Pittsburgh to look at a used Jetta. We looked over the car, test drove, and agreed to purchase. The front of the car and the rims were in rough shape. However, the price was decent.

The service performed was fine, no issues there.
During my visit I experienced 2 major issues. First being that they charge a 3% convenience fee that was not disclosed prior to doing the work and I only learned about this when it was time to make a payment. Nobody carries large amounts of cash to pay for service at a dealership. Additionally they are the most expensive in town, and they want an additional 3%.

I would leave zero stars if possible. I have taken my car here for years but will never again after my experience last week. Took it for annual service and they botched the oil filter. It leaked (and I didn’t notice), then my car essentially broke down. They refused to accept responsibility and frankly were jerks on the phone. I had to tow it myself and pay for it. I had a terrible experience at VW of Streetsboro. I drove over two hours to see a Tesla Model X, only to be met with dismissive behavior. They didn't even make a counteroffer to my proposal, with the manager stating, "I can't take a dollar off this car anymore." Ironically, the car is now $100 cheaper - just a day later.

So here's my weekly update on how Streetsboro Volkswagen still hasn't refunded my "refundable" deposit. This is now coming up on 3 weeks and still nothing. Their responses to reviews are pitiful and repetitive. This is a Low level business at best. I'll probably be back next week for week 4 waiting for my refund.

Used to be great years past, then there was a management change and a palpable change in atmosphere. When I bought my GTI, I requested that the BBS wheels from my trade-in be transferred to my purchased car, which they did, but I had to school them that the BBS wheels required a different wheel bolt head profile than the ones from the stock wheels. Service department cracked my windshield on my 2019 Atlas with 10k miles on it, either in car wash or while performing service. Service manager offered to split the cost 50/50 with me. Of course this was a ridiculous offer by the organization that caused the damage. This dealership is the worst from top to bottom. I would recommend no one purchases a car from them. They sold my wife and I damaged car and refused to help, pay or talk to us about. Communication is horrible and customer service is horrible. Truly stay away from this place.
Service has zero follow up, I have had my car in for service twice and each time the next day the check engine light came on! The third time I am still waiting, dropped it off on 10/9 and today I was told it "may" be done next week Wednesday 11/1 or Thursday 11/2! I have had to call them each time to find out what the wait was, they didn't call me!

Bad experience. Undisclosed issues with used car. AC didn't work, they said they would probably not fix it before selling. Do not buy they are sloppy with how they handle your vehicle. Had my keys stolen while in their possession and they only replaced one. And now the key they did replace does not work properly took them 6 weeks to deliver the vehicle. Also had the temporary tag expire and they did not reimburse. Stay far away from this dealership.

Worst experience ever with a dealership. We agreed to a deal over the phone (around 11am) with the GM Brian and Bob the finance guy. Bob was supposed to call us back immediately to possibly setup financing through the dealership, although we were already ready to sign the papers at our local credit union. I have had an absolute awful experience with this company when it came to communication. I purchased a 45-thousand-dollar car and when I finally got the car i was told that the car did not have tire sensors installed so i would then have to take care of that part, it took them over a month and a half for me to receive the tire sensors, i also had to pay for the installation myself. My experience with vw of Streetsboro went rather well. It seemed there was some miscommunication between the sales manager and I throughout the buying process but we came to a deal and all worked out well. Still waiting on them to fulfill a couple things on my vehicle that we agreed upon, over 2 weeks later. My saleswoman was Savannah McKee, I was happy to give her her first vehicle sale. She did an excellent job.

Volkswagen of Streetsboro is one of the worst businesses I’ve ever worked with. If you’re looking for a car, I highly recommend you consider a different dealership and a different company to avoid the years of stress they have caused me. I bought a new Jetta from this dealership in 2018. Several months into my purchase, my driver side door wouldn’t unlock. Worst communication. Sales manager confirms one thing whilst sales person confirms otherwise. Lack of consistency. Also does not accept outside financing? Stay away from this dealership.
The internet sales staff was a little slow to respond, but once I got connected to Sarah Pape, she was fantastic, and we made a deal via phone and email within an hour. When I arrived at the dealership, everyone was friendly and helpful and the SQ5 was just as it had been represented online. I travel to get the car I want, and have bought cars in multiple cities in multiple states, and the people at VW of Streetsboro made this transaction easier than most. I recently purchased a 2020 vehicle from this dealership, bought the car, took it home and thought things were good. TWO months later, I still have not received the title to the car - temp tags have expired and now I cannot drive it legally. I call the dealership - REPEATEDLY. No body returns calls. When I do get ahold of someone, they say they will call me back with more info. They say "they promise" to call back. Guess what, the call does not come. Not just once, twice - multiple times. I had the pleasure of working with Robert Wells during my most recent visit and purchase from the VW Streetsboro dealership. I very much enjoyed working with Robert, he was professional, knowledgeable and personable. Robert took me step by step through the finance process, answering all my questions along the way. Robert exceeded my expectations when he simplified and streamlined the entire finance process by using a tablet and electronic signatures. I will ask for Robert the next time I visit the dealership to purchase a vehicle.
